The State of Ohio falls into the higher end of "moderate" category
when it comes to its laws regarding homeschooling. There are other
states with less requirements or even none at all but there are also
states that require more from homeschoolers. Families who wish to
homeschool in Ohio are required to send yearly notification to the
superintendent that includes a copy of standardized test scores or other
form of assessment, such as portfolio reviews. Below are two websites
that should have all the information you might need about the specifics
of our state law and the detailed requirements for sending in your
notification.
The Home School Legal Defense Association website
has a page dedicated to the various Ohio Laws that apply to
homeschooling. You can click here to view it.
Ohio
Home Educators is another website which explains the Ohio Law and also
includes forms to print and use. You can visit their website here.
